OUR VISION

Seaside Shakespeare offers an original, high quality theatrical tradition to Nantucket Island and beyond.  We entertain and educate our audience by upholding a standard of excellence in our productions, freshly exposing the classics to a new generation of theatre-goers, while providing our visiting artists a naturally beautiful setting in which to exercise their craft.


OUR HISTORY

Seaside Shakespeare was founded by Susan McGinnis in 2003.  That year, the company created an original piece, "Wit and Wisdom of Will's Women," with a cast of 4, a staff of 3, and 1 intern. 

Since then, we have grown to stage Plays, Cabarets, and Readings, to offer an Outreach Program, and to produce full-length Shakespeare plays both indoors and out, thereby  offering a whole new theatrical experience for audiences on Nantucket Island.
